Who are we?
Universitetsroning or University Rowing, is a part of the Danish Rowing club in Sønderborg. It is located beautifully by the water at the address: Verdens Ende 2, a little north of Sønderborg, with a 10-minute bike ride to university. We are mostly students but also include and embrace members younger and older. During summer we row outside in different types of boats, depending in part on technical proficiency. During winter we do training in the club on rowing machines, strength training with basic weights, and have a weekly swimming session, included in our membership. Most of our members have no experience in rowing before joining us, but everything can be taught. Outside of our normal training times, every member is welcome at any time to train, together or alone. Rowing can be tough exercise that is sure to give you good conditioning, and strong legs – if you are doing it right.
Outside of training we attend pub quizzes, have communal dining in the club, and use the club's facilities such as its calm and large living room for studying together. Competitive members also have the option of joining competitions around Denmark, on machines or on the water.
At a yearly cost of 1008 DKK for a student, it is a very student friendly means of exercise that also offers a social network, experiences outside and is close to uni. You are of course entitled to a few free sessions before deciding whether to join or not.
By beginning of 2026 University Rowing Sønderborg has training times at the following times. Every training course is optional.

- Wednesday (Swimming in the Humlehøj swimming pool) 20:00-22:00
